Nassim Maalouf was born in Kfaraakab, Lebanon in 1941. Nassim Maalouf is the most famous Lebanese trumpet players. His love to his country, and to the Arabic music he was raised upon created a challenge which he insisted on achieving
His dream is to play the trumpet and interpret the Arabic melodies like that of the Maqamat, however it was hard for him with the normal trumpet; so he worked 2 years on developing a "quarter-tone" trumpet. Nassim Maalouf graduated from the Conservatory in Paris in 1970, and he taught at the Lebanese Conservatory of Music.
Nassim Maalouf also taught his son Ibrahim Maalouf playing the trumpet, who as well is also a very famous renowned trumpeter, just like his father. Nassim Maalouf released an album in 1994: Improvisations Orientales
