A press conference was held with the Lebanese musician “Ziad Rahbani” the moment he arrived to Egypt. In his first visit to Egypt, Ziad Rahbani announced the details of the  Jazz Festival which will begin on Thursday and runs up to five consecutive days in the Sakiyat Al Sawy. The Jazz Festival this year is much different than the years before; the participants come from 8 different countries including Austria, the Netherlands, France, Japan, Lebanon, Germany, Spain, the United States. Three of the well-known musicians in the world will be honored: Ziad Rahbani, Omar Khayrat, and the Spanish guitar player Carles Bnavzt

On the other hand Ziad Rahbani announced the surprise “CD” which will be launched soon in the collaboration with the great Lebanese singer Fairouz. Fairuz, herself, has produced the “CD” after she rejected several offers from production companies. Ziad Rahbani stated that it was very tough to persuade his mother Fairuz to cooperate with him.

Ziad Rahbani attacked Rotana, pointing that it is one of the causes that is transforming art into business…For this reason Fairuz refused to cooperated with Rotana, or any other production company. 6 years of work on this upcoming CD will definitely be crowned with success … and everyone is waiting impatiently
