Nassim Maalouf is one of the most famous Lebanese trumpet players, he was born in Kfaraab and graduated from the Conservatoire de Paris in 1970. His love to his country, and to the Arabic music he was raised upon created a challenge which he insisted on achieving. His dream is to play the trumpet and interpret the Arabic melodies like that of the Maqamat, however it was hard for him with the normal trumpet; so he worked 2 years on developing a “quarter-tone” trumpet. Besides playing the trumpet, Nassim Maalouf also taught in the Lebanese Conservatoire, as well as teaching his elder son Ibrahim Maalouf, who is now a famous trumpet player as well, just as his father

Ibrahim Maalouf is the son of the trumpet player Nassim Maalouf and the pianist Nada Maalouf. In a family where music is the essence, Ibrahim Maalouf played the trumpet with his father from the age of 9. The Maalouf trumpet players participated in many concerts in the Middle East and Europe

Nassim Maalouf confesses that his feeling when he plays in huge concerts with crowded fans is not at all the same when he plays in his hometown village Kafarkab infront of family and friends
