Carole Sakr terminates contract with Rotana

The Lebanese singer Carole Sakr joined the list of singers who have left the Saudi media company Rotana following Rami Ayash, Latifa and Nawal El Zoghbi.  After celebrating the last release of her new album “Carol Saker 2009″, Carole Sakr left the company very quietly especially with the announcement of Rotana realigning  its partnership with one of the international companies “News Corp“. Carole Sakr‘s request to terminate the contract with Rotana was totally respected, especially that the contract was limited to production only. But the real reasons came with the  prevention of broadcasting her newest video clip ”Jare7 Ghyabak”; this decision which was taken by Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal for containing sexy scenes

Sara El Hani leaves Rotana

The same scenario applies to Sara El Hani who has also left Rotana. She considered her experience with Rotana as successful and does not carry in her heart but good feelings and love for the company which released her first two albums “Akher Karar” and “Hayk Bta3mel”. Sara El Hani has filmed her song “Hayk Bta3mel” as video clip with the director Walid Nasif; however, the video clip received many criticism and said to change the image of Sara who holds a classical and Tarab voice which distinguishes her from the rest of the artists nowadays

Sources said that Rotana‘s agreement with News Corp. is in its final stages, so that soon it will become an active partner with 20% of Rotana‘s shares. The new partner stated that Rotana Audio is seen as the largest entity in the company and it is the most entity that needs restructuring, especially after the losses that it is suffering. The high production of Arabic music albums industry in recent years has been driving Rotana to losses. For this reason, many names of well-known Arabic singers will be indispensable during the next two months, especially the Arabic singers names that have not been successful in their latest album releases even if they are of the Top Arabic singers. The number of singers that will be left out of Rotana is not yet determined but the expected figures is estimated more than 80 Arabic singer

Rotana, which owns the largest music library in the Arab world, is in conflict…many Arabic singers are leaving it before Rotana gets rid of them itself…So,in year 2010 Rotana will have a brand new list of singers. Many singers will leave, as well as large number of officers and employees, along with many future projects which would affect the authors, composers, directors, and other personnel in the field of music production. On the other hand, other music production companies will benefit
